Staffers from the Da Nang-based GreenViet, a non-profit organisation working to conserve important ecosystems and endangered species in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions, will access a six-day training course on field trips-based environmental education.

Sponsored by the German International Cooperation (GIZ) Viet Nam, the more than 172 million VND course aims to help improve professional skills of the GreenViet environmental education specialists.

During the course, the trainees will make field trips to tourist-packed routes on the Son Tra Peninsula comprising Yet Kieu Street and paths leading to Vong Canh Hills and Tien Sa Port.

Eighty-four Da Nang people, including primary, junior and senior high students and teachers are expected to join these field trips.

All of them will have a chance to raise awareness of biodiversity conservation and environmental protection on the peninsula through the guidance of the participating GreenViet environmental education specialists.

Also notably, a project funded by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Viet Nam to call for financial aid for sustainable biodiversity conservation and environmental protection activities in Da Nang is now underway.

Jointly implemented by the GreenViet and Germany-based Gustav Stresemann Institute, the project is expected to last 2 months, and it will end in December 2023.
