Math Open Day Da Nang 2021 proves highly practical, truly meaningful
The Math Open Day Da Nang 2021, themed ‘Mathemetics for A Better World’, recently took place at the FPT University Da Nang Campus, attracting the participation of more than 2,000 Math lovers in the South Central Coast localities.

Co-hosted by the Viet Nam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM), the Da Nang Department of Education and Training and the FPT Education Global, the event offered the chance for the participants to gain deeper insights into the beauty of this challenging yet interesting subject.
On the spotlight at the event were a speech entitled ‘Our world is big or small’ by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong from the Viet Nam Institute of Mathematics and a lecture by Dr Duc (David) Tran, the Director of the Network Computing Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, the U.S., on ‘Introduction of Blockchain Technology: Theory and Applications’.
Besides academic speeches by the guest speakers, the event helped the participants understand more about the Applied Mathematics, the application of mathematical methods by different fields, through their visits to model exhibition sites and their engagement in a wide range of intellectual games which can help to enhance their creativity and critical thinking skills.
