Pupils with outstanding academic achievements honoured

On May 24, the Da Nang-based Le Quy Don Junior High School for the Gifted held the closing ceremony for the 2021-2022 academic year.

During the 2021-2022 school year, the rate of school pupils having good study results reached 99.66%. The school’s pupils won 46 prizes at the national competition for excellent pupils, 280 at the municipal competition for 12th-grade excellent pupils, 14 at the municipal-level Science and Technology Contest, 63 at the city-level Youth Informatics Contest for school pupils, and many high prizes at other competitions.

In addition to outstanding academic achievements, the school’s teachers and pupils got actively involved in carrying out some social welfare programmes.

Included were taking care of heroic Vietnamese mothers, supporting educational activities in mountainous, remote and isolated areas, contributing to the city’s hunger eradication and poverty reduction fund, helping Agent Orange and flood-hit victims, supporting the city’s efforts in its fight against COVID-19, and responding to the Golden Day of Friendship, with the total amount of more than VND285 million and more than 1,000 notebooks.

On the occasion, pupils who achieved outstanding results in the 2021-2022 academic year were honoured with Certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Da Nang Department of Education and Training.

Also on the same day, the Thai Phien Senior High School organised the closing ceremony for the 2021-2022 academic year.

During the past academic year, the school made many innovations in professional direction, organising training programmes for excellent students, and improving the quality of comprehensive educational activities.

The rate of school pupils having good study results reached 56.51% (up from 48.3% in the 2020-2021 academic year).

The school’s pupils won 116 prizes at the municipal-level competition for excellent students with 14 first, 26 second, 35 third and 41 consolation prizes, along with many prizes at the Youth Informatics Contest for school pupils, the Informatics Olympiad for senior high school pupils in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions, and the city-level online book introduction contest.

Meanwhile, the school's teachers won 3 first, 2 second, 1 third and 2 consolation prizes at the E-learning Lesson Design Contest, and were honoured with the Da Nang Outstanding Young Teacher Award.
