City to host 5th East Asian Seas Congress next year
Following recent approval from the Da Nang authorities, the 5th East Asian Seas Congress will take place in the city from 17 to 21 November 2015. The event will take as its theme “Global Targets - Local Benefits: Setting the Sustainable Development Agenda for the Seas of East Asia beyond 2015”.
The triennial event will be jointly organised by the Partnerships in the Environmental Management of the Seas of East Asia, the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, plus relevant ministries and government agencies, and the Da Nang People’s Committee.
The Congress will be attended by heads of state and ministers from the 12 East Asian countries, and the event’s sponsors. Also present will be 800 representatives from State management agencies, international and research organisations, and businesses involved in sea-related aspects from across the East Asian countries.
