During the reception, Vice Chairwoman Yen introduced her city’s development potential, its projects calling for investments and its preferential policies for foreign investors to her Thai guest.

She affirmed that the municipal leaders would like to promote cooperation with Thai businesses in general, and overseas Vietnamese businesses in Thailand in particular, in many spheres.

Mrs. Yen asked for a helping hand from diplomat Phan Chi Thanh to call for more Thai businesses to invest into Da Nang in the coming time.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh thanked the city leaders for their special care and active support to successfully organise the Thailand - Da Nang Business Connection Forum 2022.

He pledged that, the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand would continue to encourage more overseas Vietnamese living in the ‘golden pagoda land’ to invest into Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

Thailand is currently a major economic partner and the 9th largest foreign investor in Viet Nam with more than 600 projects, totalling over US$ 13 billion.

Thailand is Viet Nam's biggest trading partner in ASEAN. The total two-way trade turnover between the two countries reached US$19.5 billion in 2021, and US$ 5 billion in the first quarter of 2022. The figure is expected to increase to US$ 25 billion by 2025.

Therefore, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh hoped that his working trip to Da Nang would open up good opportunities for overseas Vietnamese businesses in Thailand to learn about Da Nang's incentives in investment, trade and tourism activities, thereby promoting the establishment of bilateral cooperation relations and doing long-term business in the near future.
