The Hoa Khanh Nam War chapter of the municipal Women’s Union has deployed the ‘Second mother’ model since March 2019 with the aim of giving assistance and taking care of Lao students studying in Da Nang.

Since its launch, the model has seen the participation of 11 members involved in taking care of 22 Lao students.

These Laotian children can participate in cultural, arts and sports activities organised by the ward’s Women's Union organisation. From there, they have had the opportunity to improve Vietnamese language, as well as learn about customs, habits and typical culture of Da Nang and Viet Nam as a whole.

During the programme, the Hoa Khanh Nam Ward chapter of the municipal Women’s Union launched the ‘Second mother’ model at its second stage with the involvement of 13 families of the Union’s members providing assistance for 26 Lao students studying at the University of Education - University of Da Nang.

In the afternoon of the same day, a group of representatives from the Lao and Da Nang Women's Unions visited and learned about the ‘Turn waste into money’ model launched by the Minh Hong Biotechnology Co. Ltd, located in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District.

The company specialises in producing cleaning fluid from biological products, has thrived considerably to date, and created jobs for hundreds of disadvantaged women.
