Da Nang, Primorye region look to enhance cooperation
On Thursday morning, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs held a webinar on boosting bilateral cooperation between the city’s business community and Russia's Primorye region.

Speaking at the online event, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh revealed that Da Nang will host some international-scale events in 2023, including the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023, a forum of mayors of cities that have cooperative relations with Da Nang, the International Marathon, the IRONMAN 70.3, and international cultural exchange festivals.
Through such activities, Da Nang is ready to welcome visitors and partners to experience new and attractive tourism products, and top quality resort tourism services in the city, thereby seeking investment and cooperation opportunities in the coming time, Mr. Minh added.
The city leader informed that Da Nang was one of the localities to record a relatively fast economic recovery in 2022. The city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate in 2022 went up by 14.05% against 2021, ranking third in terms of GRDP growth in the whole country. Currently, Da Nang is home to four Russian-invested projects worth nearly US$6.1 million in total.
During the webinar, Mr. Nikolay Stetsko, Deputy Chairman of the Primorye regional government, said that Primorye 's travel companies were keen on organising beach holidays and were always willing to welcome guests from Viet Nam. He also showed his interest in cooperating with Viet Nam in the fields of rice cultivation, land reclamation, and production of dairy products.
The Russian region has retail chain brands that are looking for, and importing direct shipments from Viet Nam such as coffee, tea, canned goods, beverages and beer, and confectionery.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Huu Hanh said that Da Nang-based businesses were interested in cooperating with retail chain brands because Da Nang has many typical regional and processed products, and consumer goods that are suitable for retail chains such as canned fish, coffee, confectionery, canned drinks, and others.
Leaders of Da Nang and Primorye region both expressed the need to establish an information exchange channel to support businesses of the two sides to understand market needs, thereby increasing two-way import and export turnover between two sides.
Vice Chairman Minh affirmed that the webinar was a new starting point to open up many connection activities between Da Nang and Russian partners, especially the Primorye region in the coming time.
