Da Nang asks for help from CityNet to promote urban development
During his reception on Wednesday for Mr. Jeong-kee Kim, Chief Executive Officer of the Secretariat of CityNet - the Regional Network of Local Authorities for the Management of Human Settlements, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong asked for help from the organisation to further support the city to implement the project on building a smart city.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Cuong informed his guest about the city’s goal of building Da Nang into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia by 2030, and becoming a large, ecological and smart urban area and a center of startup, innovation and a livable coastal city in Asia by 2045.
He added that Da Nang has participated in many training programmes and online seminars hosted by CityNet, thereby gaining valuable information, knowledge and experience in the fields of smart urban development.
He also sought assistance from CityNet for attracting investors to participate in Da Nang 's smart city building project in such fields as electrical infrastructure, water management, transport, health care facilities, and education.
In response, Chief Executive Officer Jeong-kee Kim said that Da Nang has been an active and long-standing member of CityNet, contributing significantly to its development through various exchanges and cooperation activities. CityNet planned to assist the city in further expanding its linkages with other members in Europe.
Mr. Jeong-kee Kim took the opportunity to invite the city leaders to attend CityNet's international forum conference to take place in June 2024. At the same time, he was committed to supporting Da Nang in connecting with members of CityNet to enhance cooperation in the near future.
