Viet Nam reports no new Covid-19 cases on 14 September morning

Viet Nam reported no new Covid-19 cases on 14 September morning, keeping the national tally at 1,063, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Earlier, Viet Nam recorded three imported case of Covid-19 on Sunday evening.

The patients arrived at Cam Ranh airport on 10 September on the flight VN5062 from Russia. They tested positive for the virus at the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang on 13 September.

Among the 1,063 cases, 691 are domestically-transmitted cases, including 551 linked with central Da Nang where the latest coronavirus outbreak began on 25 July.

Also on 13 September, eight patients were given the all-clear from the virus, including five in Da Nang and the remaining in Quang Nam, raising the total number of recovery cases to 918. There have been 35 deaths related to the disease.

In total, 918 patients have recovered from their illness while 35 died from complications related to the disease. Most of the fatalities were the elderly with serious underlying health conditions.

Among the patients under treatment, 16 have tested negative for the virus once, 17 others twice and 21 thrice. Currently, three patients are in critical conditions.

Currently, 36,299 people who had close contact with patients or entered from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine, including 504 at hospitals, 17,703 at other establishments and 18,092 at homes.

The Health Ministry has called on residents to wear masks in public places, regularly wash hands with soap, avoid crowd gatherings, and install Bluezone app to receive infection risk alerts.
