Beaches that had been crowded with vacationers in Da Nang during freshly-concluded break for public holidays fell silent on Tuesday following the municipal government’s citywide temporary closure order on non-essential services, including swimming activities, starting from 0:00am on May 4 until further notice.

The Da Nang Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Tourist Beaches has fenced off all entrances to local beaches with barrier tapes along coastal routes of Truong Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Sa and Nguyen Tat Thanh so as to prohibit both locals and visitors from entering.

The swimming ban is one of the already-adopted restrictions with a focus on minimising large gatherings  so as to curb the spread of COVID-19 following first community-based cases recently reported in the city.

Mr Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Da Nang Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Tourist Beaches, in a prompt response to the aforementioned restrictions adopted by the municipal administration, his agency has fenced off all entrances to local beaches with barrier tapes along coastal routes of Truong Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Sa and Nguyen Tat Thanh so as to prohibit both locals and visitors from entering.

Besides, this functional agency has also deployed officers to regularly patrol the beaches and remind violators to obey social distancing rules.

On Tuesday morning, no one was spotted on the spectacular beaches stretching local coastal districts.
