51 new COVID-19 infections reported in Da Nang on July 29
Da Nang reported 51 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, July 29, of which, 23 were found in the community whilst the remainder have been in managed isolation, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control's latest figure shows.
Some of the 23 cases detected in the community were documented from the testing conducted at sealed-off neighbourhoods, high-risk areas, wet markets, the so-called ‘one door, one test’ campaign, especially 2 cases with unknown source of infection.
In particular, 26 of the total 51 confirmed cases were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Tho Quang fishing wharf, bringing the total infections till date to 107.
Meanwhile, 6 cases were related to the Da Son slaughterhouse, taking the total infections to 45 up to now.
Only one case was reported in the infection chain at the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park bringing the total infections to 163 till date. In particular, this close contact had previously tested negative for COVID-19 for 4 times.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 565 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city. In detail, Thanh Khe has logs 165 infections, Lien Chieu with 124, Cam Le with 5, Son Tra with 81, Hai Chau with 45, Hoa Vang with 28 and Ngu Hanh Son with 14.
Also on Thursday, over VND74 million in fines were imposed on 55 cases for going against COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
