Da Nang records 68 new COVID-19 cases on July 30, including 19 founded in community

Da Nang reported 68 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, July 30, of which, 10 were found in the community whilst the remainder have been in managed isolation, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control's latest figure shows.

Some of the cases detected in the community were documented from the testing conducted at sealed-off neighbourhoods, high-risk areas, wet markets, the so-called ‘one door, one test’ campaign.

In particular, 45 cases logged on Friday were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Tho Quang fishing wharf, bringing the total infections till date to 155.

Meanwhile, 9 cases were related to the Da Son slaughterhouse, taking the total infections to 65 up to now.

Eight patients were reported in the infection chain at the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, and all of them were put under centralised quarantine.  This infection chain has been put under control, the local medical authorities said.

On Friday, a total of 41,000 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing. 

On the same day, over VND62 million in fines were imposed 19 cases for going against COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 633 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city.
