The Quang Nam People’s Committee has freshly issued a document on temporarily guiding travel to this province from provinces and cities nationwide and vice versa. Under the new regulations, those who come from ‘green’ and ‘yellow’ zones in Da Nang must only make medical declarations to be eligible for entering Quang Nam, without testing for COVID-19 as previously required.

On Saturday, October 9, many people living in Da Nang flocked to quarantine checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways to seek way to the neighbouring province.

On Saturday noon, at a checkpoint set up at an entrance gate to Quang Nam Province on Tran Hung Dao Street in Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban Town, many people from Da Nang were only required to make medical declarations with QR codes to be able to enter the province without having to present any documents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Loan, 34, a resident in Da Nang said, “It took only a few minutes for me to make a medical declaration to be able to come back to my hometown in Quang Nam Province.

The new guidelines released by the Quang Nam administration facilitate those who do business and live in Da Nang to come back to their hometowns and deal with urgent personal affairs”.

Meanwhile, as recorded at a checkpoint set up at an entrance gate to Da Nang, functional forces still required anyone who want to enter the city to show the certificates of negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 with the validity within 72 hours.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Hong Hai, Head of the Hoa Nhon Gateway Traffic Police Station under the Da Nang Police Department, said that citizens from other localities, including Quang Nam, who want to enter the city must submit negative results of SARS-CoV-2 tests conducted by RT-PCR or rapid antigen testing techniques with validity within 72 hours from the time of sampling, and apply online for a QR code to enter the city.
