The Da Nang government commits the COVID-19 supplemental aid program to provide financial support to eligible people who has not already received a COVID-19 support grant, Mr Triet said.
Deputy Secretary Triet urged the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to add explanations of the changes to the city’s COVID-19 guidelines in its COVID-19 daily bulletins in order to help them understand clearly what they need to do to protect themselves and others.
He also stressed the need to take drastic action to remove temporary and spontaneous markets (commonly known as “toad market” by locals) in an attempt to prevent the spread of the virus.
Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh remarked that the COVID19 outbreak has been brought under control through a citywide effort as COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in drivers of vehicles coming from other parts of the country and those who go thorough Da Nang on their way home from southern localities in recent days.
Mr Chinh called on organizations and individuals to work with the Da Nang Red Cross Society to provide support for the returning people on their way home from southern localities in a bid to reduce the risk of infection and virus spread.
The health agency was tasked to provide Da Nang -Quang Nam Province Border Crossing Guidelines for road travellers. In addition, authorities at local level and relevant agencies were asked to keep a close watch on new arrivals in order to prevent COVID-19 importations or reintroduction from them.
Chairman Chinh said that COVID-19 testing is only offered to drivers of vehicles carrying goods into Da Nang under green lane. All arrivals to Da Nang are required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken up to 72 hours prior to departure, he remarked.
Mr Chinh also noted that testing policy does not apply to those who pass through Da Nang. He directed Da Nang police to set up COVID-19 checkpoints at the railway station and the inter-province bus station in an effort to increase checks on new arrivals.
