Number of COVID-19 patients in Da Nang's hospitals falls to 74

Eleven additional COVID-19 patients were discharged from Da Nang’s hospitals on Friday afternoon, October 8, according to data from the Municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

There are just 74 remaining active cases of COVID-19 that are being treated in hospitals. In detail, 68 infected patients are being treated at the field hospital in the west of the city, and 6 ones, including 5 requiring critical care, are receiving treatment at the Lung Hospital.

Hoa Vang District Medical Centre said that there are no COVID-19 patients in the facility following the discharge of its last coronavirus patient on Friday afternoon.

Doctor Nguyen Dai Vinh, the Director of the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre, said that 1,025 patients have been admitted to hospital with COVID-19 from May 8 to October 8, of whom, 1,001 have been discharged to home following COVID-19 recovery, 20 have been transferred to the field hospital and the Lung Hospital due to worsening symptoms, and 4 have died of COVID-19 complications.

The hospital has cured 923 patients with mild or no symptoms, and 59 others having moderate symptoms and saved lives of 19 critically ill patient. The 4 patients who have died of the virus were over 65 years or had underlying medical conditions.

Hospitalized patients in the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre consisted of 387 children under the age of 15 and 54 pregnant women.

Director Vinh said that the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre will begin gradually reopening beds for non-COVID patients on October 11 after carrying out thorough cleaning and disinfection.
