Seven fishermen rescued from capsized boats

The Da Nang Steering Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue on Thursday afternoon said that four fishermen have been rescued from a sinking vessel by crew members on the boat QNg 94446 TS from Quang Ngai Province.

Three fishermen on the boat were rescued by the crew members from the ship SAR 274 and brought to shore.

Fault in electrical wiring caused a fire on board a fishing vessel DNa 90956 TS from Da Nang, leading to sinking while the boat was travelling to a shelter in the severe weather.

The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre for Zone 2 in Da Nang said they were alerted to a call for help from a fishing vessel from Quang Nam Province taking on water off the coast of Thua Thien Hue – Da Nang at noon on October 6.

The centre immediately sent the ship SAR 274 carrying doctors from the 115 Da Nang Emergency Center to help the distressed fishermen.

Three fishermen on the boat were rescued by the crew members from the ship SAR 274 and brought to shore.

One crewman who suffered a head injury was given first aid and all victims were transferred to the rescue ship for bringing back to the mainland for further care.
