Young man fined, gets driver's license revoked for riding motorcycle in the Hai Van Tunnel 2

A young motorcyclist was fined VND4.5 million and had his driver’s license A1 revoked for 3 months after being founded to illegally ride through the Hai Van Tunnel 2 in the Da Nang-Thua Thien Hue Province direction according to an article published on the Da Nang Newspaper on June 16.  

Police from the Traffic Police Division under the Thua Thien Hue Province Department of Public Security announced on Saturday that they have already identified a young man riding a motorbike through the Hai Van Tunnel 2 as Phan Huu Cat S., 18, residing in Kim Long Ward, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province.

The police have decided to impose an administrative fine of VND4.5 million on the young man and revoke his driver’s license for three months.

According to S.'s report, he was driving a motorcycle with the registration plate No.75 F1-628.1 in the Da Nang - Thua Thien Hue direction. He said that he did not know how to travel from Da Nang to Thua Thien Hue, so he got route directions on Google map app on his phone.

Previously, the Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment JSC had just sent a document to the authorities to inform about a young motorcyclist illegally riding through the Hai Van Tunnel 2.

He had been then found to bypass the security checkpoint at the beginning of the southern approach to the Hai Van Tunnel 2, and reckless overtake many cars entering the tunnel. After that, he went straight into the Hai Van Tunnel 2.
