Ngu Hanh Son and Son Tra districts are dubbed as the city’s key tourist areas as they house many resorts, hotels, motels, karaoke and bars, as well as boast amazing beaches and An Thuong Tourist Streets.

Recently, visitor numbers have soared in these localities after the COVID-19 outbreak in the city has been basically brought under control and a number of the city’s tourism stimulus programmes have been kicked off.

To maintain security and order, police in the districts continuously increase patrols on local streets, especially in places and areas frequented by tourists. Importance is attached to taking professional measures synchronously to improve the effectiveness of the fights against crimes and social evils, as well as strengthen management and inspection of such tourism business establishments as karaoke, bars, pubs, hotels, apartments, and motels.

Aside from important political events, local policemen disguise themselves as civilians at security hotspots or in crowds at events and festivals so as to ensure safety of participants.

According to Colonel Phan Ngoc Truyen, Head of the Traffic Police Division under the municipal Public Security Department, maximum police forces, vehicles, and technical equipment have been synchronously deployed to carry out professional measures, thereby enhancing the efficiency of traffic safety and urban order maintaining activities.

Additionally, the Da Nang Department of Public Security has launched traffic safety campaigns to ensure traffic order and safety during the peak tourist season.

Under the campaigns, Da Nang traffic police have been out across the city working proactively to target those flouting the law. They are swarming main streets to carry out random vehicle stops in a bid to detect and deal with alcohol and drug-related violations by road users.
