The Viet Nam Red Cross Soceity held a workshop on Thursday in Da Nang to deploy non-project financial aid, funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation, for flood-affected residents in the city.

This is an emergency relief activity for people affected by floods through supporting packages of food and household tools with a total cost of more than VND6.7 billion.

As planned, from now until April 15, 2023, especially in January and February 2023, 4,900 packages of food, foodstuffs and household tools will be given to 4,900 flood-affected families in 28 wards and communes across the city. Each gift is valued at VND1 million.

Besides, first aid kits, worth VND4 million each, will be provided for 64 Red Cross volunteer teams citywide, whilst a VND142 million basic rescue equipment kit will go to the municipal-level disaster response team.

Some support activities, including a zero-dong Tet Fair and a humanitarian market, will be organised before the Lunar New Year 2023, aiming to helping disadvantaged people celebrate a full, warm and happy Tet.
