Over the past years, many barbershops in Da Nang have been providing free haircut programmes for local people as a way of helping low-income people.

The Vuong Baber Shop and Bin Baber Shop have maintained the meaningful programme for many years on the pavement of Nguyen Tri Phuong Street next to the March 29 Park.

The young barbers are trainees at these two shops.

Young barbers are trained at the salons for one month before participating in the free haircuts.

Not only those in difficult circumstances, anyone can join the free haircut programme to get a new hairstyle.

Zero-dong hair cutting services are maintained throughout the days of the week, from 9:00am - 12:30pm, and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Barbers are meticulous in their attention to detail in order to bring customers beautiful hair

Vo Thanh Son, 17, in red shirt, has been involved with this meaninful activity for more than 8 months. For him, there is nothing more gratifying than receiving smiles and thanks from customers.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, residing in Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District, stopped by the event while on his way home from work. “I’m so happy, for sure. By getting a free haircut, I’ve saved some money to buy breakfast meals” he added.

Over the past 3 years, Mr. Lam Anh Quan, a resident of Thach Gian Ward, Thanh Khe District, has been a loyal customer of zero-dong haircuts here. He said that despite free services, barbers always greet customers with a warm, sincere smile.

The closer it gets to the off-work hours (4:30 pm - 5:30 pm), the more customers come to get their hair cut free-of-charge.
