Da Nang launches Action Month for Food Safety

Accordingly, this year's Action Month for Food Safety takes place nationwide from April 15 to May 15. Its major aim is to improve the awareness and responsibility of the whole political system and the community on this matter.
During the month, the focuses are on organising a parade of vehicles, and establishing interdisciplinary inspection teams to pay inspection visits to food production and processing businesses.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Hai, Head of the city’s Food Safety Management Board, to ensure food safety, it is necessary to raise people's awareness when choosing to buy food at reputable establishments, along with knowing how to properly preserve and process food.
Therefore, inspectors will pay visits to food production and processing businesses in the city, with a concentration on large production and business establishments, and food suppliers, traditional markets, and distribution channels.
At the same time, the department will increase information on food safety, improve people’s awareness about food safety, and prevent food poisoning. In addition, there will be more inspections of school kitchens.
