He took the opportunity to ask for help from the US diplomat to support the city in training human resources for semiconductor circuit design, and semiconductor assembly, test, packaging (ATP).

The city leader informed that, in addition to investment attraction and cooperation promotion in the field of semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI), Da Nang has been calling on international businesses and investors, including those from the US, to visit and seek investment opportunities in the city in international finance and international seaport.

At the recent "Meet Da Nang 2024", Da Nang has signed many cooperative agreements with international agencies and US businesses such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Synopsys International Limited and Intel Corporation.

Therefore, Mr. Cuong hoped that the US visitor will do his utmost to accelerate the implementation of the agreements signed by the two sides.

In reply, Consul General Susan Burns highly appreciated Da Nang for seizing opportunities to develop the semiconductor industry right after Viet Nam and the US upgraded their comprehensive strategic partnership as well as after the city leaders' visits to the US in 2023.

She also commented that Da Nang was an attractive investment destination, and boasted cooperation and investment potential for businesses and international investors.

Mrs. Susan Burns proposed that Da Nang invest more in the fields of healthcare, environment, and renewable energy which are fields of great interest of US investors and businesses.

She voiced her hope that the city leaders will soon establish a working group to promote cooperation between Da Nang and the US in order to create favourable conditions for information exchange and specific implementation of signed agreements between the two sides.
