Review of city's socio-economic development over past 6 months

Between January and June, Da Nang’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 9.13% year-on-year to hit an estimated 20.052 trillion VND.

Over the past 6 months, the city’s tourism sector earned 4.656 trillion VND in revenue, a 29% year-on-year increase and representing 52.8% of the year's target.  The total number of tourist arrivals to the city rose by 15.8% year-on-year to nearly 1.784 million, equal to 49.6% of the year's target.  Of this figure, the number of foreign visitors increased by 15.7% year-on-year to an estimated 450,642 which represents 51.2% of the year’s target.

Meanwhile, the total value of retail sales of goods and services rose by 11.6% year-on-year to an estimated 39.388 trillion VND.  Total export turnover of goods increased by 10.1% year-on-year to an estimated 543.5 million USD, representing 47.1% of the year’s target.

The value of industrial production went up by 9.6% year-on-year to an estimated  20.980 trillion VND, representing 49.6% of the year’s target.  The value of agro-forestry and fishery production showed a rise of 3.2% year-on-year to an estimated 1.442 trillion VND, equal to 65.6% of the year's target.

During the period, the city’s total budget collections reached 5.956 trillion VND, fulfilling 51% of the year’s estimates set by the city.
