The flights will enable connections to destinations in Viet Nam and Korea. Promotional return tickets will be offered for less than 250 USD.
VietJet will be the 3rd budget airline operating flights between Da Nang and South Korea, after Jeju Air and T’way Air of Korea. T’way Air operates 5 flights a week from Da Nang to Daegu, 4 flights between Da Nang and Seoul, and daily HCM City-Seoul flights, while Jeju Air offers daily flights from Da Nang to Incheon.
According to the municipal Department of Tourism, there are 12 flights from Korea to Da Nang every week, carrying an average of 1,500 passengers. Two additional direct flights from Da Nang to Pusan and Muan, Korea will launch later this year.
The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has operated a Da Nang-Pusan route with two flights per week since 2013.
Tourists from South Korea comprise the 2nd largest segment of foreign tourist arrivals in Da Nang. Last year, the city welcomed more than 443,000 South Korean visitors.
Da Nang is also home to 53 South Korean-invested projects with total capital of 734 million USD.
VietJet currently offers flights from Hue, Da Nang and Buon Ma Thuoc in the central region to Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, and routes from Quy Nhon to HCM City and Vinh to Da Lat. It aims to open additional domestic routes and expand its operations to economic centres in the Asia-Pacific region.
