On Wednesday, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung, and his counterpart from Quang Nam Province, Mr Le Tri Thanh, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which organic agricultural products sourced from the province will be supplied for Da Nang until 2020.

Under the agreement, the authorities in the two localities will facilitate their local agricultural businesses to introduce their potential and seek partners.

The focus will also be on ensuring the State effective management of agro-forestry-fishery products, and enhancing the checks over the origin and quality of agricultural products sourcing from Quang Nam Province.

In addition, numerous meetings, conferences and fairs will be organised in Da Nang to promote organic agricultural production and consumption, and to raise public awareness of food safety.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman Dung highlighted the importance of the quality of agricultural products which are supplied by businesses and co-operatives from Quang Nam Province.  He remarked that those violating the city’s food safety regulations will be imposed strict punishments, or even be revoked their business licences.

In reply, provincial Vice Chairman Le Tri Thanh undertook to tighten the management of agricultural production to ensure the sufficient supplies for Da Nang.
