In an effort to promote the development of an organic vegetable and safe meat supply chain in Da Nang, the local authorities have already inked cooperative agreements with Lam Dong, Quang Nam and Tien Giang provinces.

In addition, 11 provinces and cities nationwide have committed to supplying their vegetables to Da Nang, whilst livestock and poultry meat products have been sourced from the provinces of Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai and Quang Nam.

In order to continue developing this chain, in the near future the Da Nang authorities will enter into cooperative agreements with Binh Dinh Province for the supply of organic pork meat, and with Gia Lai for organic vegetables.  Greater efforts will be made to encourage local businesses to further develop the organic food chain, and organise more agricultural product fairs in the city.

This information was released at a meeting on Thursday about developing the organic vegetable and safe meat supply chain in Da Nang. 

In his closing speech, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam noted that Da Nang has emerged as a potential and important location for the development of an organic vegetable and safe meat supply chain nationwide.  He therefore stressed the need for the local authorities to give the domestic localities involved easier access to local markets and residents.
