Domestic flights set to increase from Oct. 21
The Ministry of Transport has created a plan to restore domestic flights from October 21 to November 30, 2021 based on actual assessment of the pilot implementation of domestic flight resumption from October 10-20.
Under the plan, no more than 6 daily round-trip flights on Ha Noi - Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Ha Noi - Da Nang, and Da Nang – HCMC routes will operate on each way from October 21 to November 14, and no more than 7 daily flights will operate each way from November 15 to November 30. In addition, no more than 4 daily flights will operate on other domestic routes on each way.
Domestic airlines will be allowed to increase its frequency on each of its routes by one a day on November 1 and November 15 if they have an average occupancy rate on such route of 75% or more within the previous 7 days.
The Ministry of Transport also requires domestic airlines to only accept to carry passengers who are public service personnel, those who are helping the country’s fight against COVID-19, experts, managers, businesspeople, and travellers.
