Master degree’s holder Nguyen Thi Hai Duong, Vice Dean of Faculty of Tourism, the University of Economics - the University of Da Nang: Close cooperation between training institutions and tourism enterprises

Da Nang is in need of high-quality and professional human resources in order to successfully realise its goal of turning itself into a hub of high-quality tourism and services, and an innovative destination of Viet Nam and Southeast Asia by 2030. Currently, the tourism training programmes of most training institutions in the city are being changed towards meeting the needs of the labour market and international integration.

She, however, underlined a necessity for a close and quality cooperation between training institutions and tourism businesses in order to ensure the quality of such tourism training programmes.

In particular, enterprises need to be aware of the results of the training cooperation process as they are the beneficiaries. Therefore, there is a need for more comprehensive cooperation in training. The acceptance of interns needs to achieve harmony between the interests of three parties: businesses, schools, and learners.

For large-scale enterprises, the demand for interns and recruitment is relatively stable, this cooperation will help businesses get human resources to immediately meet job requirements, and shorten training time. In this cooperation, the enterprises should send tourism experts to teach practical courses according to their standards, and use learners for their future recruitment needs.

Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association: Restructuring the source of customers in a more diversified direction

He underlined a must-do for Da Nang to restructure the source of tourists in a more diversified direction in a bid to promote the sustainable development of the city’s tourism industry in the near future. This not only enriches the destinations’ products to suit the main sources of visitors, but also determines which sources of tourists are potential in the long-term period.

He also proposed the city soon remove bottlenecks to quickly enrich tourism products of destinations, especially tours to the sea, the Da Nang Bay, Hai Van Pass and around Son Tra Peninsula, in order to turn itself into a hub of tourism and high-quality services, and an innovative destination of Viet Nam and Southeast Asia.

It is necessary to quickly deploy large-scale tourism projects with pervasive power, capable of changing the face of the city, as well as to attract more resources to promote Da Nang’s tourism image in major markets, he added.
