On Tuesday, in Da Nang, the ASEAN - Japan Centre, in collaboration with the Viet Nam Trade Office in Japan and the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a webinar on ‘Application and development of hydrogen technology in green energy transformation’.

The event aimed to assist businesses in accessing and applying this technology, and at the same time, providing solutions to support production, use, storage and transportation to form a green hydrogen supply chain.

The delegates discussed the orientation contents of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on hydrogen energy planning; the potential of renewable energy to develop green hydrogen, measures to support the production and use of green hydrogen, and appropriate and synchronous resources to form a green hydrogen supply chain; hydrogen application, solution for green energy and carbon neutrality in Viet Nam.

Potential Japanese investment poured into Viet Nam's energy industry, Japanese hydrogen technology and energy conservation cooperation between Japan and Viet Nam were also discussed. 

Also, the demand for using hydrogen and hydrogen-based products is being considered and calculated in the overall Viet Nam energy development scenario.

These aforementioned contents showed the important role of hydrogen in the national energy system and offered the opportunity to assess the overall green hydrogen production from solar and wind energy sources and the potentials of using green hydrogen in Viet Nam.
