Results of 'I love the homeland's sea and islands' contest released
On Saturday, the High Command of Coast Guard Region No. 2 and the Da Nang Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee jointly organised the awards ceremony of the contest ‘I love the homeland’s sea and islands’ during which scholarships and bicycles were presented to needy yet studious students whilst gifts went to fishermen in difficult circumstances.

The contest was held at three junior schools based in Son Tra District, namely Le Do, Ly Tu Trong and Nguyen Van Cu from December 2021, attracting the participation of a combined total of 4,428 students.
The contestants competed in writing and drawing themed ‘Sea and islands of the Fatherland and the Coast Guard soldier’.
The contest helped children enhance their understanding of the sea and islands, show their love for the Vietnamese Coast Guard soldier, and raise their awareness of firmly protecting the Fatherland’s sacred sovereignty over its sea and islands.
The contest’s organisers received 115 paintings and 102 writing articles, from which 33 and 46 respectively were selected for the final round.
As reported that 19 paintings and 19 articles were awarded one first, three second, five third and 10 consolation prizes for each category.
On this occasion, the High Command of Coast Guard Region No. 2 and the High Command of Coast Guard Region No. 2 presented 300 gifts, each worth VND1 million, to fishermen in difficult circumstances whilst 30 bicycles and 75 scholarships for poor students with good academic results.
