Da Nang maps out plans to ensure all-round development of students

The Da Nang administration has just issued a plan to implement the School Health Programme by 2025 in the city.

In detail, the aforementioned plan sets a target of 80% of the total schools ensuring sufficient conditions for performing school health services and taking care of students' health.

Besides, there will be 90% of the schools conducting health checkups for students at the beginning of the school year, 50% carrying out assessments for the early detection of risk factors for non-communicable diseases and mental health for students, and over 95% providing enough safe drinking water and water resources for the school’s activities with quality assurance.

At the same time, 100% of the schools at all levels shall have toilets for students and all of the senior high schools with separate toilets for female students.

Meanwhile, 90% of the school must meet safety school standards. In particular, 80% of the classrooms meet the lighting requirements and 70% of the senior high schools will arrange tables and chairs whose sizes match the height of students, especially suitable for those with disabilities.

As for at - school physical education and sports activities, 80% of the schools must earmark at least one area with necessary equipment and tools in service for physical education and sports activities. Also, 85% of the schools will organise appropriate physical activities for students through extra-curricular sports activities, in the form of sports clubs.

With regard to the organization of at-school meals, focus will be placed on ensuring proper nutrition for students. All of the schools will be required to organise educational activities on reasonable nutrition, healthy and safe food for students through regular classes and extracurricular activities.

Also, 100% of the schools organize school meals and canteens meeting food safety and hygiene regulations.
