Boosting bilateral cooperation relations with Sekong Province

Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Thursday, warmly received a group of Sekong Province’s leaders, led by Secretary of Sekong Province Party Committee cum the province’s Governor Lekalay Sivilay.

Attending at the reception for Lao guests were municipal Party Committee’s Standing Deputy Secretary cum People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh, and Chairman of the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Ngo Xuan Thang city.

During the reception, Secretary Quang wished the Sekong Province delegation successful visits to the central provinces.

He also affirmed that the Party, State and people of Da Nang, and those of Viet Nam as a whole, always appreciated and cultivated the special traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Laos, especially between Da Nang and Sekong Province.

The city Party chief expressed his delight at fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation programmes with Sekong Province over the past time which have come from affection, responsibility, and the same goal of promoting the development of Viet Nam and Laos in general, and Da Nang and the province in particular.

The host also informed the Sekong Province leaders about the upcoming working trip to the south-central provinces of Laos, including Sekong Province, in July made by the city’s leaders.

He added that, within the framework of the forthcoming working trip, leaders of Da Nang and Sekong Province would sign cooperation agreements in many fields. He vowed that Da Nang would make every effort to support and cooperate with Sekong Province for mutual development.

For his part, Secretary Lekalay Sivilay thanked the Da Nang leaders for their warm welcome. He also took the opportunity to express his thanks to the leaders and people of the city for their active support for Sekong Province in the COVID-19 prevention and control work.

In particular, Da Nang has supported the province in many fields. In particular, the city has received the province’s students to study at the University of Da Nang, funded the construction of a friendship primary school, and the Sekong Provincial School of Politics, trained human resources for the province, and supported the locality’s socio-economic development.

"The aforementioned supports reflect comprehensive cooperation and cultivate friendship between the two Parties and States in general, and Da Nang and Sekong Province in particular" said Secretary Lekalay Sivilay.

The Laotian guest asked for support from the Da Nang leaders to encourage more Da Nang's businesses to invest into the province in the coming time, as well as facilitate the province to export agricultural products and coal into Da Nang.
