During his visit to the Village of Hope, Standing Deputy Secretary Triet extended his greetings to the village’s children, as well as praised the village’s staff for wholeheartedly educating and caring for the children here over recent years, thereby contributing to ensuring the city’s social welfare.

He noted that, over the past time, the city authorities have always paid special attention to enhancing the quality of the spiritual and material lives of the village’s teachers and children.

He hoped that the village’s children would continue to make every effort to overcome their difficulties to achieve good academic results.

Mr. Triet asked the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Thanh Khe District authorities to pay more attention to mobilising more financial resources for the Village in support of its effective operation in the coming time.

Director of the Village of Hope Nguyen Phan Vinh informed that since its establishment, the village has cared for and helped more than 700 orphaned and disabled children aged from 6 to 18. Most of them have got married and have had stable jobs so that they can take care of themselves and their own families.

During the 2021-2022 school year, the village raised a total of 118 children. The percentage of pupils with fairly good and good academic results was higher than in previous school years.

Meanwhile, at the Hoa Mai Orphan Care Centre, the city leader sent his warm regards to the children, wishing them study well, listen to their teachers and help each other in life.

He, at the same time, highly lauded great efforts made by the centre’s staff in taking care of and raising children with special circumstances in difficult conditions.

Mr. Triet pledged that the city's leaders would continue to accompany the centre, issue more effective support policies for the centre, and call on more generous donors to support the centre in the time ahead.

The Hoa Mai Orphan Care Centre is under the management of the city’s Da Nang Association for Supporting the Disabled and Orphaned. It is now home to 35 orphans living in extremely difficult circumstances in the city and from neighbouring localities.

To mark the occasion, on behalf of the city leaders, Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet presented in-kind gifts and VND10 million in cash to the Village of Hope and the Hoa Mai Orphan Care Centre.
