Newly-accredited Laotian Consul General in Da Nang, Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang, and his wife, paid courtesy calls to the city's leaders on Wednesday.

During his reception for Lao guests, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang congratulated Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang on his appointment as Consul General of Laos in Da Nang.

He expressed his belief that the Lao diplomat would continue to further promote the good relationships between Da Nang and the south-central provinces of Laos, thereby contributing to tightening the traditional ties between Viet Nam and Laos.

Municipal Party chief affirmed that he would always pay attention to and create favourable conditions for the Lao ambassador to well fulfill his assigned tasks.

On this occasion, Secretary Quang invited Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang to join the city leaders' working trip to localities of Laos in early July 2022.

When receiving the Lao diplomat and his wife at the headquarters of the municipal People’s Council, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet wished Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang a successful term in Da Nang, contributing to making the bilateral relationships with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, green and sustainable forever.

According to Chairman Triet, over the past time, the municipal People's Council has regularly developed cooperation policies, programmes and plans with Laotian localities, as well as taken part in exchange activities between the city and the Laotian Consulate in Da Nang.

Also on the same day, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh held a reception for newly-appointed Consul General of Laos in Da Nang Souphanh Hadaoheuang and his wife.

During the meeting, Chairman Chinh affirmed that, over the past time, the municipal People's Committee and the Lao Consulate in Da Nang have always been bonded together and kept up the good relationships. Especially, some cooperation programmes between Da Nang and the south-central provinces of Laos during the 2018-2022 period have gained many positive results in such aspects as culture, society, education and health.

He hoped that the Lao diplomat would do his utmost to lift the cooperative ties between Da Nang and the south - central provinces of Laos to a new height in the coming time.

While receiving the delegation of Lao guests, Chairman of the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Ngo Xuan Thang expressed his delight at the special bilateral relations between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and Da Nang and the southern-central provinces of Laos in particular.

Chairman Thang hoped that during his tenure in the city, the Lao consul general would contribute to promoting friendship and cooperation between central provinces of Viet Nam with Lao localities and partners.

For his part, Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang thanked Da Nang for its active support for the south-central provinces of Laos over the past time, especially during the two years affected by COVID-19.

He promised to do his best to maintain and further develop the Viet Nam - Laos relationship.
