A virtual signing ceremony on establishing friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Mar del Plata, municipality of General Pueyrredón District, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, took place on Friday.

Meanwhile, the online signing ceremony at the Argentina broadcast point saw the presence of Mrs. Cecilia G.Torres, Director in charge of International Cooperation, Community and Religion in municipality of General Pueyrredón District.

In his speech delivered at the signing ceremony, Chairman Chinh briefed the attendees on the city’s favourable geographical position, natural conditions, and economic, cultural and social development situations.

He unveiled that the linkage between Da Nang and Mar del Plata began in 2018 through the introduction and connection of the Embassy of the Argentina in Viet Nam.

The local government chief remarked the establishment of a friendly and cooperative relations between Da Nang and Mar del Plata City was very suitable for the development of the bilateral relations between Viet Nam and Argentina.

He also affirmed that the move provided the good opportunity for Da Nang to expand its international cooperation and promote its images to a new country.

Chairman Chinh expressed his hope that, after the signing ceremony, both the localities would carry out many specific and meaningful cooperation activities, thereby strengthening the development of their bilateral ties in the time to come.

According to Mr. Luis Pablo Maria Beltramino, the signing of the agreement is one of the goals set forth in the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Argentina and Viet Nam with the aim of further deepening the good relationship between the two countries for the common interests of the two peoples.

"As the Argentinian Ambassador to Viet Nam, I hope that after the signing of the agreement, many specific projects and actions will be implemented, hereby contributing to promoting socio-economic and cultural development of the two cities" said Argentinian diplomat.

Under the cooperative agreement, Da Nang and Mar del Plata will carry out their cooperative programmes in such aspects as education, culture, smart city building, digital transformation, creative industry, environment, urban transport, port complex, and food industry. This is considered as the basis for departments, agencies and units of the two cities to implement many specific cooperation programmes in their potential fields.
