Thanks to the Fund for the Poor, every year hundreds of poor and extremely difficult families across Da Nang are supported with housing and production facilities, as well as provided with free medical examination and treatment, in order to stabilise their lives and escape poverty sustainably.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and its chapters at all levels raised more than VND14.2 billion for the Fund for the Poor.

Of this figure, more than VND4.8 billion was raised by the Hai Chau District chapter of the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, reaching 89.26 % of the year’s plan.

More than VND2.7 billion out of VND4.8 billion went to build 3 new houses and repair 41 downgraded ones for those in need, provide means of livelihood for 29 poor families, give learning tools to 1,033 pupils, and grant scholarships for 29 students.

Mrs. Tran Thi Cuc Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the Hai Chau District chapter of the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, revealed that in the coming time, her unit will continue to encourage businesses, agencies, units, organisations and individuals, as well as people from all walks of life to contribute to the Fund for the Poor, creating resources to share economic burdens with poor households.
