Presenting gifts to the elderly with difficult circumstances
On Thursday, Deputy Head of the Da Nang Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Department Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, and some representatives of the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, visited four elderly people living in difficult circumstances in the build up to the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Elderly (June 6, 1941 - 2022).
They were 90-year-old Tran Van Hat residing in An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, 117-year-old Huynh Thi Tinh in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, 110-year-old Phan Thi Tri in Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dai in Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Cam Le District.
During her visits to the elderly, Deputy Head Huong presented gifts to them and congratulated them on their longevity. She took the opportunity to encourage them to continue being good examples for their children and grandchildren to follow.
On the occasion, representatives from the district-level authorities gave the elderly Certificates of Longevity from the Viet Nam Association of the Elderly, and longevity greeting cards from Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.
Da Nang now has more than 4,000 elderly people receiving long life wishes each year, of whom about 300 are aged 100 years or more.
