During her reception on Thursday morning for some representatives from the Department of Labour and Social Welfare of Laos’ Champasak Province, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen highly appreciated the visit made by the Lao guests, being considered as a vital milestone in deepening the cooperation relationship between Da Nang and Champasak Province, and great friendship and special solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos as a whole.

Mrs. Yen informed that the high-ranking delegation of Da Nang, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, recently had a working trip to Champasak Province, and the both sides entered into many cooperation agreements in such aspects as scholarship granting, Vietnamese teaching, tourism, and trade.

She expressed her hope that the two localities would soon concretise the cooperation agreement, thereby further cementing their special relationships in the years ahead.

Mrs. Yen said Champasak Province and Da Nang would continue to strengthen cooperation in areas of their strengths such as trade and investment, school building and upgrade, public works, and Vietnamese language teaching centres.

Mr. Oudomsak Divixay, Director of the Department of Labour and Social Welfare of Champasak Province, expressed his impression on the city’s socio-economic development achievements.

The Lao visitor hoped that the two localities would further tighten their cooperation relationship, and increase exchange and share experiences, based on the needs and capabilities of each side.

To mark this occasion, the Da Nang Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Lao provincial Department of Labour and Social Welfare signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the 2022-2026 period.

Under the deal, Da Nang and Champasak Province agreed to maintain regular exchanges of delegations to enhance understanding and study on labour, war invalids and social welfare, and policies for people with meritorious services.
