During the reception for his guests, Secretary Quang said that Da Nang's economy was hit hard by COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, but it recorded a strong recovery in the half of 2022 thanks to the timely leadership and direction of the national government, the solidarity of the municipal Party Committee, and the high level of consensus among locals and businesses. In particular, the city’s State budget revenue as of July 21 had reached nearly 77% of the year’s target. The local tourism and service sectors are on the path to strong recovery, whilst the city has been welcoming a growing number of domestic tourists.
The city Party chief said that after the pandemic, Da Nang has been restructuring its economy towards developing hi-tech industry and information technology besides tourism and services.
In terms of Party building work, the Standing Board of the municipal Party Committee has focused on renewing and improving the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party committee and party cells. The inspection and supervision work has been carried out strictly, and the mass mobilisation work has been well done.
Da Nang has just been chosen by the central government as the host for a national seminar on innovation of the Party's leadership method for the operation of the political system. The city is promoting an extensive political activity associated with the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity.
For his part, Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh expressed his impression on Da Nang’s post-pandemic rapid economic recovery.
He added that Hau Giang had a lot of potential for promoting the development of urban, tourism and services, but it has yet to fully tap its potential due to a lack of human resources and experience. Therefore, he hoped that Da Nang would share its valuable experience in these aspects with his locality in the coming time.
Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee Dong Van Thanh said that over the past time, the province has synchronously and effectively implemented a number of socio-economic development programmes, with a focus on agriculture. In the first 6 months of the year, the province’s State budget revenue reached over 68%, local residents’ living standards were increasingly improved, and the Party building work was enhanced.
Chairman Thanh took the opportunity to ask for more support from Da Nang to drive the province's socio-economic development in the years ahead.
Also on the same day, the delegation of Hau Giang Province and Da Nang leaders laid wreaths and offered incense at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District.
The leaders of the two localities observed a minute’s silence to pay their respects to late President Ho Chi Minh, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s liberation and re-unification.
