Since 2014, Da Nang has supported 10,491 policy beneficiaries citywide to repair their downgraded houses and build new ones, at a total cost of over VND 329 billion, surpassing the year’s plan.

Of this figure, more than VND 83 billion has come from the national government budget, over VND 124 billion from the city budget, and over VND 39 billion from local districts’ budgets. VND 20 billion has been raised by all-level Fatherland Front Committees, departments, agencies, associations, mass organisations and armed forces, whilst over VND 52 billion has been allocated from the ‘Gratitude Fund’ at grassroots level and from businesses citywide.

According to the Da Nang Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in 2022, 732 local policy families have received financial support from the city government for the construction, repair and upgrading of their houses. Up to now, most of the families have completed the house repair and construction work, and have gradually stabilised their lives.

Addressing the Tuesday meeting to review Da Nang's support for policy families to build new houses and repair downgraded ones, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly praised relevant units and generous donors for their active support for local policy families, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

He hoped that, the units, in the coming time, would continue to promote the care for heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and revolution contributors by concrete, practical and positive actions.
