Da Nang wants to strengthen connections with Japanese businesses

When meeting with Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan, on Thursday, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh expressed his delight at fruitful results from the good cooperative relationship between Da Nang and the two cities of Yokohama and Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan.

He remarked that Kanagawa Prefecture has been actively cooperating with Viet Nam, and many businesses of the Japanese localities are investing well in Da Nang in human resource training for such aspects as medicine, healthcare, cancer screening, wastewater treatment, and environmental protection.

Chairman Chinh hoped that Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji would do his utmost to call on more businesses from his locality to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang in the field of seaport infrastructure management, smart city building, high technology, and high quality healthcare.

The city leader expressed his desire that direct flights from between Da Nang and Japan would be soon reopened, aiming to strengthen cooperation between businesses and people of the two countries and two localities.

The municipal authorities pledged to create the best conditions for Japanese businesses to seek cooperation opportunities in the city. At the same time, the city provided maximum support for Kanagawa Prefecture to successfully organise the Kanagawa Festival in Da Nang on Thursday afternoon..

For his part, Governor Kyroiwa Yuji thanked the city leader for the respectful welcome, voicing his hope that the two localities would continue to develop closer relations in the coming time.

Sharing about the Kanagawa Festival in Da Nang, the Japanese diplomat said that the festival was held in Viet Nam for the first time in 2015. The festival provides a chance for Da Nang people to better understand Kanagawa Prefecture, and Japanese culture and cuisine, as well as to promote cultural exchange and cooperation in many fields of mutual interest.

He also thanked Da Nang for its attention and active support for his locality to organise the 2023 Kanagawa Festival.

He pledged to make efforts to promote the image of Da Nang and to create the most favourable conditions to expand direct flight connections between Da Nang and Japan in the near future.
