The Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment JSC has just sent a document to the authorities to inform about a young motorcyclist illegally riding through the Hai Van Tunnel 2.

At around 5:00 pm on June 12, a young man was riding a motorbike with the registration plate No.75 F1-628.1 in the south-north direction.

He was then found to bypass the security checkpoint at the beginning of the southern approach to the Hai Van Tunnel 2, and reckless overtake many cars entering the tunnel. After that, he went straight into the Hai Van Tunnel 2.

After receiving a report from functional bodies, the management and operating unit of the tunnel immediately pulled road barriers to block off vehicles travelling into the tunnel.

However, despite the obstacle, the young man still drove at high speed. He, then, bypassed the security checkpoint and the Bac Hai Van Toll Station when he ran out of the tunnel at the northern side.

Currently, the Authority of the Hai Van Tunnel has provided license plate information to security forces, and traffic police in Phu Loc District and Thua Thien Hue Province, to investigate and impose punishment on the young man in accordance with the law.

The Hai Van Tunnel 2 which connects Da Nang with Thua Thien Hue Province opened to traffic in late 2020.

Some types of vehicles are not allowed to pass through the tunnel, such as vehicles carrying toxic and flammable substances, construction vehicles, motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.

Motorcyclists who want to pass through the tunnel must use transit vehicle services or ride over the Hai Van Pass.
