August CPI up by 0.74%
Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August went up by 0.74 % against July.
During the month, the highest increase was 3.3% for medicine and healthcare services because local public hospitals have raised their service fees for their patients without health insurance cards since early this month.
The prices of transportation increased significantly by over 2% due to a hike in domestic fuel prices on 4 and 19 August, whilst those of restaurant and food services rose by 0.8% due to the hike in food prices. Meanwhile, houses and building materials prices showed an increase at 0.63%.
Despite the strong purchasing power of textbooks and learning tools for the new 2017 - 2018 academic year, education showed a slight increase at 0.02%.
The prices of the remaining groups remained stable or increased slightly.
