Students at alert level 3 areas allowed to return to in-person school
The Da Nang Department of Education and Training has issued guidance for reopening of schools for in-person instruction.
Sixth graders will go back to the classroom from next Monday, February 14 while primary school pupils will return one week later on February 21. Face-to-face teaching on campus will resume from February 14 at foreign language and informatics centers, along with centres for life skills and extracurricular activities.
According to the new guidance published by the municipal Department of Education and Training, only educational establishments located at areas under alert levels 1, 2, and 3 will be allowed to resume in-person teaching while others at alert level 4 areas will continue with online education. Campuses at alert level level 4 areas will be closed to the public, staff, and students. Teaching staff, school pupils and university students living at alert level 4 areas will not be allowed to attend any in-person classes.
In addition, Da Nang’s schools will implement blended learning approach that can combine the best of both traditional and online instruction to offer engaging learning experiences for students who are attending physical classes and are self-isolating at home in efforts to keep quarantined students learning.
Primary schools will return from February 21 but will not offer day-boarding for their pupils, and they will only go to campus for half-day, in-person lessons. No return date has been set for preschoolers.
