Da Nang leaders pay homage to martyrs

A delegation of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee, the National Assembly deputies' delegation of Da Nang on Wednesday morning paid tribute to fallen combatants at the City’s Martyrs Cemetery, the Military Zone 5 Cemetery in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Nhon Commune, the Hoa Vang District Martyrs' Monument, the Phuoc Ninh Cemetery in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Khuong Commune, and the Hoa Vang Cemetery in Cam Le District’s Khue Trung Ward on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27)

The delegation consisted of Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the municipal Fatherland Front Committee Ngo Xuan Thang, and members of the Executive Board of the municipal Party Committee, along with leaders of departments and agencies and authorities at local level.

The participants observed a minute’s silence to pay their respects to late President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s re-unification.

In front of the hallowed memorial to the heroic martyrs, Da Nang leaders vowed that the government and people of Da Nang will forever remember the service and sacrifice made by the heroic martyrs for Viet Nam's independence and reunion, as well as continue to uphold their consensus and solidarity, and do their utmost to make Da Nang even more civilized and prosperous in a bid to enable all people to prosper and flourish in life and health in the years ahead.
