Published: January 18, 2016

Over recent years, the Ba Da Pagoda in Ngu Hanh Son District’s My An Ward has been actively involved in various charitable activities to help local poor people.

In particular, the pagoda has annually given Tet gifts to hundreds of local poor people to help them enjoy a warm and happy Tet Festival.  In addition, it has provided financial assistance to poor orphaned school pupils to help them continue pursuing their dreams of studying.

Over the past few years, 50 million VND each has been given to 50 needy families to help them build new houses.  The money has been raised from Buddhist monks, nuns and followers, along with other generous donors from both inside and outside the city.  In addition, thousands of gifts have been donated to poor families and social policy beneficiaries in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.

In 2013, the pagoda presented 2 dialysis machines, worth 400 million VND each, to the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre.  Similar devices were also given to the general hospitals of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.

In June 2015, the pagoda donated 550 million VND to the Dinh Tien Hoang Primary School in Quang Nam Provinces’ Thang Binh District to help the school build new classrooms.

In an attempt to help local poor and disabled people to celebrate the forthcoming Tet Festival, the pagoda has recently presented gifts, worth 500,000 VND each, to 500 needy and disadvantaged families, and 50 wheelchairs to disabled people.

In addition, it has presented a new 50m2 house to the poor family of Mr Tran Viet Hieu from Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward, and given financial aid to help Mrs Bui Thi De from Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Son Commune have a new house built.

Furthermore, Tet gifts worth 300,000 VND each have been given by the pagoda to 500 poor families in Hoa Lien, Hoa Son and Hoa Ninh communes in Hoa Vang District.  Scholarships, valued at 1 million VND each, have also been presented to 50 poor school pupils across the city.
