Another cold spell hit the north-eastern and north-central provinces and cities on early Tuesday morning, causing a temperature drop to 9-14 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures are fluctuating between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and from 11-14 degrees Celsius in delta localities, including Ha Noi. Hanoians have already started to experience their winter with temperatures of 15-19 degrees Celsius on Monday.

The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warned the cold spell would last for 2-3 days.
The centre also said due to the cold spell, showers were forecast to hit Ha Noi and the north region from Tuesday. At the same time, torrential rain with thunderstorms would continue to hit provinces from Thanh Hoa to Binh Dinh, including Da Nang.

Over the coming days, Da Nang is forecast to see cloudy weather, showers, and thunderstorms, with the temperatures hovering at between 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.

The cold spell may cause rough seas in the northern part of the East Sea, including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelago, the centre said.
