Exports hit 334.8 million USD in first quarter
According to the latest statistics released by the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the city earned an estimated 334.8 million USD from exports in the 1st quarter of this year, up by 11.4% compared with the same period last year.

Over the 3-month period, FDI enterprises operating in the city took the lead in export turnover with 159.1 million USD, up 11.2% against the same period last year. They are followed by local businesses with 100 million USD, a 10% rise, and central state-owned businesses with 75.7 million USD, up 13.6%.
It was reported that, although the global and domestic economies faced many difficulties and challenges during the 1st quarter, Da Nang-based enterprises made great efforts to ensure the stability of their production and business activities.
The breakdown by product type shows that the highest growth was in rubber products, up 81.8% to reach 9.8 million USD, followed by engines, electrical equipment and electronics, up 14.6% to hit 110 million USD, and children’s toys, up 12.7% to reach 16 million USD.
In addition, the export turnover of textiles and garments climbed by 12.3% to 87 million USD, whilst that of wooden products and handicrafts rose by 11.3% to reach 3.5 million USD and seafood products increased by 5% to hit 42 million USD.
