Following recent approval by the Da Nang People's Committee, a public park will be built at the site of the delayed Vien Dong Meridian Tower project at 84 Hung Vuong Street, to south of the Trung Vuong Theatre.

Covering an area of 11,170m², the park will feature a square, a playground for children, greenery areas, promenade area, parking area, and other facilities.

Mr Nguyen Tuan Son, Director of the Management Board of the city’s Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects, said his agency had already submitted project-related technical infrastructure planning documents to the Department of Construction for approval. In particular, his agency will hold a ceremony to announce the project and implement the next procedures in accordance with the city’s regulations.

Earlier, resolutions regarding the revoking land of stagnant projects and the implementation of key projects accelerating Da Nang’s progress for the 2016 - 2020 period were passed at the 7^th session of the municipal People’s Council in its 9^th tenure for the 2016 - 2021 term on 12 July.

Amongst the stagnant projects was the Vien Dong Meridian Tower project at 84 Hung Vuong Street which had progressed slower than scheduled. Accordingly, participating delegates at the session voiced in support for the creation of a public park at the site, to south of the Trung Vuong Theatre.
