Exciting events for Tet
Various events are being planned across Da Nang to welcome in the Tet Festival.
In particular, the Spring Flower Festival in the 29 March Park and the Tet flower market in 29 March Square on 2 September Street will take place between 30 January and 17 February (the 21st day of the 12th lunar month to the 10th day of the 1st lunar month).
At 9.00pm on 7 February (Lunar New Year’s Eve), visitors will for the first time be treated to musical effects when the dragon’s head at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge breathes fire and squirts water. Three different musical scores will be used on subsequent days in rotation. The scores are based on 3 legendary Vietnamese songs, namely ‘Huyen Thoai Ngu Hanh Son’ (The Legend of the Marble Mountains), ‘Huyen Dieu Song Han’ (The Fantastic Han River), and ‘Noi Rong Ve Khai Hoa’ (A Place Where the Dragon Returns to Deliver Eggs).
A special musical performance to welcome in the Tet Festival will take place on Tran Hung Dao near the Han River Bridge from 10.00pm to midnight on 7 February.
Also on Lunar New Year's Eve, spectacular fireworks displays will be set off at midnight from 4 locations - Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, Ngu Hanh Son District’s arena, the Phuong Trang vacant land area in front of the Lien Chieu District Administration Centre, and a vacant land area in front of the Hoa Vang District Administration Centre.
A public arts performance will take place on Bach Dang riverside promenade on the evening of 13 February (the 6th day of the 1st lunar month), while a musical and comedy performance will be organised for the evenings of both 13 and 14 February (the 6th and 7th days of the 1st lunar month) at the Trung Vuong Theatre.
